Tread Wear

TESTING

Tread Wear Testing

Tread Wear refers to the gradual wearing of the rubber of a tire, which serves as an indicator of its useful life. When a tire is rolling, it is generating friction with the ground with which it is in contact. This friction is the main factor driving its constant wear.

In addition, wear can be accelerated when the tire operates under high temperatures. This can be due to several factors, such as:

  • Weight carried
  • Driving speed
  • Vehicle power
  • Tire coating type
  • Ecternal temperature
  • Track/Ground temperature

Our workshop, surrounding facilities and local climate allow us to perform maximum demands tests for tires and rims, by combining surfaces and a wide range of temperatures:

  • Highways
  • Twisty roads
  • Off-road dirt tracks
  • Aggressive asphalt at high temperatures
  • High-speed circuit
All our services feature our Real-Time Data Acquisition and Reporting System (RDARS): Monitoring and capture of telemetric performance data while driving on public roads or on test tracks, and systematic data upload to be available for immediate analysis.
